BRIGHTSTAR CREDIT UNION ANNOUNCES NEW COMPLIANCE AND FRAUD MANAGER, AYLEEN ALFONSO
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (January 5, 2021) - BrightStar Credit Union , one of the largest credit unions in South Florida, has announced the appointment of Ayleen Alfonso as Compliance and Fraud
Manager. Alfonso will be responsible for the credit union’s day-to-day BSA/AML compliance program and managing action plans for the detection and prevention of fraud.
A familiar face to the BrightStar community, Alfonso began her career at the credit union in April 2018 as a BSA specialist and shortly thereafter was promoted to Assistant Compliance and Fraud Manager.
Alfonso also brings years of experience to her new role from working at South Florida credit
unions, including Miami Firefighters Federal Credit Union, Mercy Credit Union, and
Jetstream Federal Credit Union.

Alfonso has a strong reputation in promoting BrightStar Credit Union’s philosophy of bright
service, where each member is valued, and has grown an appreciation for the contribution a
credit union adds to communities.
Prior to joining BrightStar, Alfonso advanced her credit union career by obtaining a Compliance
Officer Certification from Miami Dade College’s Center for Financial Training. She also holds two
designations from the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) as Certified
Compliance Officer (NCCO) and Certified Bank Secrecy Officer (NCBSO).
