Two Women Leaders at 121 Financial Credit Union Promoted to Vice President

Promotions prompted by exceptional performance and commitment to community and cultivating next generation of leaders

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — (Jan. 13, 2022) — 121 Financial (“One to One”), Jacksonville’s hometown credit union, is proud to announce that it has promoted two women leaders to vice president roles. Beth Lightsey has been promoted to controller and vice president of finance and April Bartlett has been promoted to vice president of lending. Both women have served in leadership roles for more than 30combined years, providing mentorship and support in helping cultivate the next generation of leaders in the credit union industry.

“Beth and April have both made impressive contributions to our industry and our credit union, ultimately helping our members and the people of Jacksonville financially succeed,” said David Marovich, president and chief executive officer of 121 Financial Credit Union. “Their responsibilities, which they deliver upon exceptionally, are essential to the financial health of our members and our institution. However, their personal contributions as part of the 121 Financial family through their professional attitude, mentorship and genuine care for others, and innovative approaches to challenges are what makes them outstanding leaders in our industry.”

As controller and vice president of finance, Lightsey oversees the accounting and finance departments and is responsible for financial reporting, accounting operations and regulatory compliance. She works closely with credit union auditors and examiners and prepares all monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports. Prior to 121 Financial, Lightsey served as a senior tax associate in public accounting before joining 121 Financial in 2017.

“121 Financial was one of the first credit unions to open in the country and the entire team, from our leadership to our tellers, has always remained rooted in our history, mission and purpose,” said Lightsey. “It is truly an honor to serve as a leader in this organization where everyone cares tremendously about our neighbors, especially those who need financial guidance and support the most. I am honored to work alongside these inspirational individuals every day while doing my part to ensure the long-term success of our members, our employees and our industry.”

Bartlett, who joined 121 Financial in early 2021 as director of lending, has already made significant contributions to the lending department. In herrole as vice president of lending, Bartlett now oversees all consumer and mortgage lending activities at 121 Financial, including indirect lending. She also ensures 121 Financial’s lending policies and procedures remain competitive and address the evolving needs of the credit union’s members and directs all collections functions. Prior to 121 Financial, Bartlett spent 22 years with another local credit union where she also served in lending and operations roles.

“I am proud to be a part of the 121 Financial family and helping our members achieve their dreams,” said Bartlett. “Our lending team is exceptional and works individually with each member to ensure they are heard, their needs are met and that their intended roadmap leads them to success. This personalized, one-to-one approach is what really makes the difference for our members; they become a part of the 121 Financial family as well.”
