The Law of Attraction Works at Franklin Mint FCU

Screen Shot 2014-11-25 at 4.44.05 PMSales aficionado and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar said, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” Putting the needs of others first is the key. Some call this the “Law of Attraction.”

Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU) realized this phenomenon twice in 2014, first in the form of a 47.5 percent increase in youth membership and secondly via a $500,000 donation to their educational foundation.

The latter was a gift from heaven, literally. Vice President of Education, Rick Durante, was shocked when he received an out-of-the-blue call from the executor of the estate for Wilbur Henderson, Jr., President/CEO of The Henderson Group, a Philadelphia commercial and industrial developer. The gentleman on the other end of the phone was Bill Taylor, long-time Henderson family friend. He informed Durante that the Henderson Foundation wanted to make a sizeable donation to Delco Hi-Q, the nation’s oldest continuous high school academic quiz competition, which was established in Delaware County, Pennsylvania in 1948.
